Chronifer Labor 13% is a free cutting chromium stainless steel with 13 % Cr which is manufactured in Rod, Bar and coil. Chronifer Labor 13% is resists to water and stream corrosion after tempering and a forced polishing of the parts. For optimum corrosion resistance, surfaces must be free of scale and foreign particles and finished parts should be passivated. Condition T is pre-tempered to 26-32 HRC. (AISI 416 Stainless Steel, WS 1.4005)

Mechanical properties

After annealing 500-700 N/mm 2

Heat Treatment
Hardening in oil 950 to 1000 ºC, content of carbon must be above 0.9%
tempering 600-700 ºC

Maximum hardness
43 HRC

Cutting rate
40 to 65 m/mm depending on the lubrication oil, the cutting tool, the shape of parts etc.
